Zebra Printer Troubleshooting
The key to successfully troubleshooting a Zebra printer is to follow an orderly process. As we already mentioned, this process must begin with cleaning the machine. After this, we recommend you do the following:
Check the location of the tape and label
Misplaced ribbons and labels are two of the most common problems we encounter when troubleshooting Zebra barcode printers. Therefore, it is essential to physically inspect the labels and ribbon to ensure that they are loaded correctly into the printer.
The tape guides must have the correct fit. Otherwise, labels may begin to move away from the center of the printer, making it difficult for the main sensor to find where to print. If not resolved immediately, this can block the printing process.
Therefore, never assume that a Zebra printer is properly charged and ready to go when you start using it. All it takes is for one team member to misload it and break the system. For this reason, we recommend that companies make it part of their process to verify tape and label placement before each team member begins using the system.
